I have had too many potential customers that view this process as a selection of commoditized goods.  First, let me say that I am a believer in the gathering of information.  In today's world of google searches and AI, it has become much simpler for the regular Joe/Jane to research and gather information.  Secondly, if you feel you need to explore the landscape of offerings by getting multiple bids to your project, have at it!  It’s valuable to gather information on products, pricing, and services.  However, too many people see this as the “cheapest option wins” scenario.  In the world of advancing technology, Home Automation, and Audio/Video, it becomes extremely difficult to weed out the good businesses from the bad businesses and to make the right selection for the company you plan to work with.  

My recommendation as an industry expert with over 20+ years experience, is to work with companies you can trust.  Choose the one who teaches and educates you on their process, the product selections, and especially the one who will hold to their plan for service and communication.  Oftentimes, communication is the key element to finding the right company.  If they communicate well, and will openly discuss pricing, products and specific timelines that satisfy your request, then you’ve found a good one!  Once you find that good company, stick with them for ALL your AV needs.  Like finding a great mechanic for your vehicles, once you find the one you can trust, you’ll never go anywhere else for service again!
